The Love-Hate Relationship

May has arrived, and flowers are in full bloom, showcasing their vibrant colors. These hues have a remarkable way of evoking emotions and uplifting our mood. Their fragrances fill the air with a natural perfume. What's not to love? Well, ask someone allergic to pollen, and they might vehemently disagree. For them, the very thought of flowers can trigger fear – the fear of allergic reactions. Their fragrances can induce uncontrollable sneezing, often leading to inflammation and swelling.

Just as flowers adapt to the changing seasons, taking advantage of each to grow, it's important to recognize that growth isn't always external. Similarly, if we take care to nourish ourselves each season with nutrients from seasonal vegetables and fruits, then come bloom time, we'll be better equipped to enjoy it fully and completely.

The good news is that even if you missed the opportunity to prepare for this seasonal shift, there are some home remedies that can offer relief. Starting the day with a half-cup of yellow dock tea can help soothe inflammation in the nasal passages, throat, and respiratory system. Engaging in exercise that makes you sweat aids in releasing built-up toxins that can aggravate our system. Incorporating deep greens, such as spirulina, into your diet can help reduce inflammation and boost your immune system. These are just a few ways to help us feel more at ease during this seasonal transition.
