Author: Dr. Sonya Patel, DAOM, FABORM

This gentle herbal topical blend beautifully combines traditional Ayurvedic ingredients with popular botanical extracts often enjoyed in self-care routines. When you apply it during a massage, it offers a soothing, comforting experience after everyday physical activity or occasional overexertion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric (powdered or freshly grated)

  • 3 teaspoons arnica gel

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl until a smooth paste forms.

  1. Apply a thin layer to the desired external area and massage gently into the skin.

  1. Leave on for several hours if desired, then rinse with warm water if needed.

  1. Reapply as part of your personal wellness routine, as appropriate.

Note: Turmeric is naturally pigmented and may temporarily stain skin, fabrics, or clothing.

Traditional Herbal Background (Ayurveda + science):
This herbal blend is inspired by traditional wellness practices that have been used for generations.

  • Turmeric has a long history of use in Ayurveda and is valued for its naturally occurring curcuminoids.

  • Arnica gel is commonly included in topical wellness and massage products designed to provide a soothing skin feel after physical activity.

  • Rosemary essential oil offers a refreshing herbal aroma and a pleasant warming sensation when diluted and used in topical massage applications.

Together, these ingredients create a comforting herbal paste that can be incorporated into a relaxing self-care routine.

 Safety Information:

  • For external use only.

  • Perform a patch test on a small area of skin at least 24 hours before first use.

  • Do not apply to broken, irritated, or damaged skin.

  • Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas.

  • Wash hands thoroughly after application.

  • Because turmeric may stain, use caution around clothing, towels, and bedding.

  • If you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or are using this product on children, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.

  • Discontinue use if irritation or discomfort develops.

Who May Enjoy This Blend: This herbal topical paste may be incorporated into a wellness routine by individuals seeking a soothing massage experience after exercise, outdoor activities, gardening, or other everyday physical exertion. It is intended as a traditional self-care preparation and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
