Above the Clouds

The blue skies are guaranteed to lift anyone’s spirit. Our spirit is influenced by everything around us. Our 5 senses open up a world to us and we depend on them to experience our surroundings. We use them to gratify our desires, which evoke emotions that we identify with. Emotions are our reaction to interfacing with external objects and experiences. The unfortunate aspect of this relationship is that we end up becoming dependent on our senses for our happiness.

The reality is that we often ignore the desires of our spirit, mistakening them for our senses. Emotions distort our deeper desires and we become enveloped in them. When we identify with our spirit instead of our emotions, there is a sense of freedom. No longer are we held hostage by our emotions, but rather we become aware of their role in our life. This clarity can be achieved by cultivating awareness through actively directing our energy very intentionally. If our intention is to feel deeply fulfilled, we can guide our energy to work for us instead of against us. When we can achieve that, we gain back control and our spirit feels whole once again - afterall, blue skies always exist above the clouds.
